Setting Up Thunderbird
Note: When installing Thunderbird for the first time, the setup option will run and the first and second steps. Please start at step 3 when installing Thunderbird for the first time.
Click Tools at the top of the window and select Account Settings.
In the lower left hand corner choose the button that says Add Account...
In the field called Your Name, enter in the name you wish to be seen when you are sending e-mails. In the field called E-mail Address input your Sunflower Broadband e-mail address. Click Next.
Select POP for the incoming server. Under the field called Incoming Server input [USERNAME].pop.sunflower.com (username is the first part of your e-mail address). Leave Use Global Inbox checked and under the Outgoing Server put in smtp.sunflower.com. Click Next.
Incoming User Name is the first part of your e-mail address, Outgoing User Name should be the same. Click Next.
Account Name is how the name will be listed under your Thunderbird account settings. Click Next.
Review your information on the final screen to make sure it is all accurate and click Finish when complete.
