Configuring Windows XP for Internet Use

Click Start. Click the Control Panel icon.

Click Network and Internet Connections

in pick a category, click Network and Internet Connections

Click the Network Connections icon under the heading or pick a Control Panel icon

choose Network Connections

Locate and right-click the Local Area Connection. Select properties from the grey pop-up menu.

Highlight the line labeled Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click the Properties button below.

Click the “radio button” next to Obtain an IP Address Automatically and Obtain DNS Server Information Automatically.

Click the OK button at the bottom of the window. Click the CLOSE button at the bottom of the following window.
